Honorary Captain for 2010

The 2010 Football Committee has selected DJ Eisenbarth as the Honorary Captain for the 2010     District III High Schools East-West Shrine All-Star Game. DJ is the son of John Eisenbarth and Terry   and Cindy Arp. He is 19 years old and a recent graduate of Eagle High School. He is currently        enrolled in the Meridian Transition Academy.

DJ was born with a fairly unique chromosome translocation, which has resulted in significant    physical disabilities. Over the years, DJ has had ten surgeries at Shriner’s Hospital in Salt Lake City,  including two spinal fusions for scoliosis; flattening and rotating of both feet; Achilles lengthening;  three femoral rotations and hamstring release.

Despite the challenges he has faced, DJ is an extremely happy and social young man. He is very  excited to be this year’s Honorary Captain, especially since he will be on his old football field at  Eagle High School.

Proceeds from this game, the Shrine Circus and numerous Shrine events throughout the year help  maintain the Shrine Transportation Fund to help patients like DJ with travel to and from the  hospital, as well as lodging. There is no cost for hospital care for the children of Shriners hospitals. Thanks to your donations and support Shriners has offered care for children for over 100 years!

If you know of a youngster (age 1-18) who needs orthopedic or burn care, please contact a Shriner, email elkorahshrine@gmail.com or call the El Korah Temple at 208-343-0571. If you’re interested in becoming a Shriner please email elkorahshrine@gmail.com or go to beashrinernow.com.
