Post All-Star Game

The above picture was of one of our Honorary Captains Enrique Moya doing the coin toss at the 2011 East vs. West Shrine Game.

Well, I would like to start out by saying, if you did not attend the All-Star Games at Eagle High School, you missed some great football. With the windy weather, we had parents, family and friends of all the players in the stands to bear the brisk November weather.

The eight Man Teams consisted of the top players from 1A, Division 1 and Division 2 high schools in District III, and these players did not let us down. The teams were hitting hard with their pads, which made the game exciting with the passes, fumbles, and tackles. The East All Star Team won the Game 38 to 14 over the West All Stars.

The eleven Man Teams consisted of the top players from 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A high schools in District III. The teams were so closely matched that the game was decided once again in the very last seconds of the game. With the East Team holding off the West All Star teams last drive in the last 12 seconds with a final score of East All Stars 21 West All Stars 15.

These young men played with all their hearts. We had a couple of the young men come out of the game at the last couple of minutes with injuries. This will tell you that these men did not give up. I would like to commend the All Star Game Committee members in helping to make this game and “EVENT” and not just another All Star Game.  Also, all the volunteers that helped out with the player BBQ, and showed up to the Game. At this time we do not know the final attendance or the final receipts, but should know soon.

If you would like to volunteer and help next year on the committee please let me know. Game DVD’s can be purchased at and team photos can be purchased at And if you have program please support the advertisers in there.
