Famous Shriners

The Shriner’s are a brotherly fraternity of business professionals who are looking to better themselves through fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, truth and relief. Through philanthropy and the passion for helping kids, the Shriners help kids and families who may not have the resources otherwise to get help from the Shriners Hospitals for Children®.

So who are some people you may know who have been Shriners? Here are a list of people who are proud to be Shriners and prominent figures in the public.

  Buzz Aldrin – USAF Colonel, Astronaut, 2nd man to walk on The Moon

 Buzz Aldrin (born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr.; January 20, 1930) is an American mechanical  engineer, retired United States Air Force pilot and astronaut who was the Lunar Module pilot on  Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing in history. On July 20, 1969, he was the second human  being to set foot on the Moon, following mission commander Neil Armstrong.

 Arnold Palmer – Professional Golfer

Arnold Daniel Palmer (born September 10, 1929) is an American golfer who is generally regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of men’s professional golf. He has won numerous events on both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour, dating back to 1955. Nicknamed “The King,” he is one of golf’s most popular stars and its most important trailblazer because he was the first star of the sport’s television age, which began in the 1950s.

Brad Paisley –  American singer-songwriter and musician.

Paisley was the 2008 CMA and ACM Male Vocalist of the Year winner. Starting with the release of his 1999 album Who Needs Pictures, Paisley has recorded seven studio albums and a Christmas compilation on the Arista Nashville label, with all of his albums certified gold or higher by the RIAA.[1] In addition, he has charted 25 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 16 of which have reached #1 with a record 10 consecutive singles reaching the top spot on the chart. On November 10, 2010, Paisley won the Entertainer of the Year award at the 44th annual CMA Awards.

Samuel Jon Hornish Jr. –  American race car driver

He is best known for his open wheel accomplishments, which include an Indianapolis 500 victory and three Indy Racing League championships. He currently drives the #12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger forPenske Racing part-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He also drives the #38 Front Row Motorsports Ford when Travis Kvapil is unable to drive the car.
